Re: Seven Dials Playhouse: 275934
We write to express our deep anxiety about the financial viability of the Seven Dials Playhouse (until 2021 The Actors Centre) on its current business model, and note with concern the fact that the charity’s annual return and financial statements are now almost 3 months’ late.
To save the charity, we endorse the “Actor at the Centre” campaign to revive the membership activities and professional training carried on before the charity’s premises were repurposed and the charity was rebranded and fundamentally reconfigured.
We therefore call upon the Charity Commission urgently to engage with the charity trustees of the Seven Dials Playhouse, to ensure that the trustees are properly taking account of all options, giving due consideration to the representations of the performing arts community in London, represented by Equity, as key stakeholders, and properly accounting to the public for their management of the charity.
